My second weigh-in today on my shiny new bathroom scales, I've decided to make it the 1st of every month, meaning that January's measurement was late (because I didn't buy the machine until mid-January!)
That means it's been around 3 weeks since I last weighed myself, when I was at 19st6lb.
Today, it told me 19st exactly. I didn't believe it, so I flipped it to kg, and then straight lb, but it gave me the same result each time after I the conversion maths. Somehow, I lost just about half a stone in 3 weeks, which is what I lost in an entire 6 months last year. You can see why I might have been incredulous at first.
I haven't changed much in my regime, except that I have added a couple more ways of using the stepping machine for lifting, and I sometimes do between 1.5 and 2 times the amount of steps on it than my "minimum target" for each day.
At this rate, I might get back to what I thought was a healthy weight when I was back at university nearly half my lifetime ago, in under two years.
Weight loss is not the primary aim of the exercise, though I consider it to be a fringe benefit. it's more to give me a metric to encourage me while I pick up the less tangible (but more valued) benefits. The main goal is to improve my strength, stamina and overall fitness, and to get more in tune with my body and more aware of it. With that second part, the kung fu exercises seem to be doing a lot to help, just as the dancing classes that I took about a year ago helped. I've really only done two proper exercises, but I feel more confident and seem to be getting the hang of them. Although, of course, it's hard to tell just from the pictures in the book. The moves feel like they make sense physically.
