POEM: Political INcorrectness gone mad!

Political INcorrectness Gone Mad
(By Snowdrop Explodes)

Political Correctness Gone Mad -
We often hear it said
Most often about something that
Never really happened, it just
Made its home in someone's head.
And even if it did happen
It's usually just someone standing up
And saying:

"Don't treat me like shit".

And it's better than the alternative
The truth that people live every day
That you take for granted, that you want to protect:
Political INcorrectness gone mad.

Like:

Blaming a girl for wearing a skirt that's short
Killing a tranny and then getting away with it in court
Because, "her penis challenged my manhood, maaan".
Hating and fearing that brown dude sitting next to you
Kicking a girl to death
Because of the way she liked to dress
"We don't allow freaks and dogs in here"

What are you afraid of?
That the different might be seen as "okay"?
The goth, the whore, the black
The Trans folk, the women, the gay?

If you keep on:
Hating us
Hurting us
Punishing us
Hiding us
It's political INcorrectness

Gone mad.

That's beautiful.

I have to say something like that is what goes through my head whenever someone complains about the "PC police". And I just want to shake them and lose my ability to converse because I don't want to hear their opinion, I don't care about their justification, I don't want to be polite, I want them to get their head out of their arse!

I really enjoyed this poem. It brings to mind why people rail against so-called "PC speech" in the first place. When people get upset it is because they don't want to acknowledge their unearned privileges. They don't want to think about how it makes others feel. Why is the concept of valuing all people so hard for so many to embrace?

Thanks!

I suppose I should cloarify a few bits, because it's all based on (recent) real-life news stories.

The opening remarks, "never really happened..." are about the perennial tabloid stories about Christmas being abolished in favour of "Winterval" or some non-denominational title. The stories are based on a single event over a decade ago, that was actually never anything to do with PC anyway.

The next couple of lines are self-explanatory!

Then:

In 2007 it was discovered that at least a third of UK citizens believed that a woman was at least partly to blame for her getting raped.

The transsexual murder stories have been all over the sex-positive blogs in 2008

Fear of POC have also been perennial in the UK since 2003 at least.

A goth girl was kicked to death by a band of youths who saw her gothness as a legitimate reason to assault her and her boyfriend.

A D/s couple with goth appearances, where the male partner led the female partner around on a dog lead, because she chose to be his pet, were given the exact line in quotation marks in the poem by a bus driver.

And the rest also is self-explanatory, I think.
